Specialist material sourcing

Aerogel Powders, Particles and Functional Materials

Project sourcing for formulators and manufacturers with defined particle, surface and process requirements.

Three different sourcing paths

We keep core aerogel products, development materials and related inputs clearly separated.

Silica aerogel powders

Grades considered by particle size, hydrophobicity, purity, bulk density, packing and intended formulation route.

Functional aerogels

Carbon, graphene-related, adsorption and catalyst-support enquiries matched to specialist manufacturers.

Particles and granules

Project formats for loose fill, composites, mortar, boards and specialised processing.

Aerogel material sample under evaluation

A sample must represent the intended process

Laboratory evaluation should use the same grade, packing and handling conditions proposed for scale-up.

  • Define the binder or carrier system
  • State processing temperature and shear
  • Agree the sample quantity and packaging
  • Record the final validation method

Information required before sampling

A broad request for aerogel powder is not enough to select a meaningful grade.

Material definition

Chemistry, purity, particle range, hydrophobicity, density and restricted substances.

Process fit

Dispersion medium, mixing route, temperature, equipment and handling constraints.

Commercial scope

Sample amount, production volume, packaging, destination, documents and target date.

Formulation performance belongs to the final system

A raw-material TDS cannot predict every binder, process or end-product result.

Send the process, not only the material name

Include chemistry, particle needs, formulation route, sample quantity and validation plan.
